New Year’s Resolutions for 2012!

Now that the New Year has started, what are your goals for the year? Have you even started to make them? Whether the answer is yes, or no, the time is now to begin sending them in to action. The more time you wait, the more customers may begin making purchases at other locations or websites.

Since each New Year brings new resolutions and beginnings, we’ve thought of a few tips that should help you move your business website forward. Take a look and let us know your thoughts.
  • Small isn’t always bad: Don’t try to stretch yourself and think too large. Your customers may have become accustomed to a few of the services you provide, and if you move too quickly, you could scare them off. Keep true to your values and don’t forget about your existing customer base. They will continue to help your business grow just as new customers will.
  • Mobile Marketing: A recent study shows that around 15% of all searches on Google are coming from mobile devices. That number will only continue to grow in the upcoming years. As you are updating your website, make sure that you are correctly optimized for mobile browsing, and are continuing to update your search and email marketing to hit that growing mobile audience.
  • Localize It: Not only are users searching more as they use their mobile devices, but users are searching more for local places and content. To stay on point with these local searches, make sure your website and company information is listed on search sites such as Google Places, Yahoo! Maps and Bing Maps.
  • Social Touch Points: If you haven’t done so yet, and you feel that your business has an untapped opportunity with a social medium, focus an effort on building a campaign on such sites as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or even try updating your material with QR Codes. Make sure your customers have multiple ways to connect with you throughout the year.
And lastly, create time to make sure these items begin moving and working for you. Some of these items may take up a little bit of time, but if you want them to work correctly, you must take the time to see results.
